Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC)
Reminder!
Virginia Tech employees are asked to use the university's CVC donation site when making a contribution. The state has a separate donation site, but donations made through that site may not be counted toward Virginia Tech's campaign goal.
What is the CVC?
- Started in 1997, the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is an annual giving program operated by and for state employees. The campaign raises funds for local, state, and national charities.
- 753 approved charities will participate in the 2023 campaign, including numerous United Ways, Federations (groupings of charities), and local charities.
- Virginia is one of 36 other states with employee workplace giving programs.
- CVC is governed by Executive Order# 27-2014, signed by former Governor Terry McAuliffe, to include a 15-18 member advisory council of all state employees from various state agencies and three DHRM CVC staff employees.
- The DHRM agency head is the Chair of the CVC Advisory Council, and Governor Youngkin is the Honorary Chair.
**All charities are prescreened by the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign Advisory Committee.
